Tobias Salbaum is a German deep-tech founder, generalist builder and self-described realistic optimist. Over seven years he co-founded and helped lead two ventures. At Atlas Aero, alongside his brother Maximilian, he turned the Origin eVTOL concept into a full-scale prototype shown at IAA Mobility 2021, on roughly €25k of their own money and under €100k of early public funding. He then co-founded Neomium, building high-performance electrification hardware: the CÆSIUM® Cs-40 motor controller, a repairable magnetic battery architecture, and Paratrone, a paraglider-based cargo drone. Across both companies he raised over €750k in public innovation funding and grew a team to eleven. He studied chemical engineering at FAU Erlangen-Nürnberg. He now travels, trains, writes and takes on selective advisory work.
